The PIT's newest link of the Navigation Page (left hand side of our homepage) is one to our Flag Football Rules. Information for both 5 on 5 non-contact and 8 on 8 limited contact (blocking) flag divisions can be found there. In addition to the full rulebooks a quick guide to the game is also provided to give teams and players and overview of the game. We have had quite the response thus far to these two divisions so if you want more information check out the link here: http://www.pitfootball.com/menu/flag-football-rules-2013

For those of you who may have perused the flag information yesterday there has been a couple of updates have been added to the 8 x 8 limited contact (blocking) guide to the game found here: http://www.pitfootball.com/menu/flag-football-rules-2013

The new rules are highlighted on the final page of the guide to the game. Thanks to Mr. Wentz for helping with some of the rule interpretations to make the rules of the game more consistent, safe, and enjoyable for the players.

Anyone who has never played before here is a video to give you a general idea of how the game plays. Keep in mind this is an American league and rules are slightly different/smaller field (no stiff arms or 3 point stance allowed here in the PIT). But the basics are there ...

Thanks Chris, I have embedded the above video into the Flag Football Rules found here: http://www.pitfootball.com/menu/flag-football-rules-2013

In addition, I have embedded the link to the U-18 5 on 5 non-contact flag championship from this past year in which Team Manitoba won the national championship. Props to all the PIT members who played on that team! Both videos should provide PIT members and idea of how the game is played and how flag differs from the traditional touch game.

In the 8 on 8 video the DL are only a yard off the ball, in the PIT version will the DL be lined up at 5 yards as it states in the guide to the game?

Go to the last page of the guide to the game, there should be 3 rule corrections. That is one of them, you only need to be a yard of the LOS, and can blitz from anywhere, anytime.

Here's a single play from last year in Winnipeg, you can see the DL give a full yard - that is all. Some rush some drop in coverage.
