138 teams will participate in the 2013 winter season. Some additional time-slots were obtained and the season will now begin a week early on January 4th and will wrap up on the first weekend in April. With that many teams the PIT set a slew of new records:
1. 138 teams is the largest contingent on teams ever to play in a season of indoor football in Canada!
2. The 138 teams will necessitate a record 23 divisions of play
3. A record 8 coed teams will participate
4. Over 1000 players were bring their unique skill set through the complex. Again the most ever for indoor football!
5. The league sold out in less than three weeks!
The 138 teams smashes the record set by the PIT last winter when 113 teams registered, breaking the record by a remarkable 22.1%! Despite the extra time we were still unable to accumulate 24 teams who were left out in the cold for the Winter.
We thank all the teams registered and apologize to the 24 teams who were not able to participate in the Winter league due to the lack of space available to accommodate them. Those teams should begin to prepare for the Spring season starting in April! Thanks again for making the PIT the largest recreational touch football league not only in Manitoba but all of Canada!
