The PIT Crew was tasked with a few questions regarding how playoffs will work in the divisions which don't contain 6 teams. So here is a rundown for those teams as well as those new to the PIT.
Playoff Scenarios:
Divisions with 6 teams will have the usual 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 semifinals used to establish the finalists for those divisions. This season the PIT does however have some divisions without 6 teams. Playoff scenarios for each division will work as follows:
ELITE:
2 teams: Both teams will automatically face off in the final
DIVISION 1:
2 teams: Both teams will automatically face off in the final
DIVISION 2:
5 teams: Top 4 teams will make playoffs
DIVISION 3/4:
8 teams: All 8 teams will make playoffs! The top 4 teams in the division will face off for Division 3 supremacy, the bottom four teams will battle for the Division 4 title.
DIVISIONS 5** THROUGH 17:
6 teams: Top 4 teams make playoffs

I was just wondering why in Division 2 that despite there being only 5 teams, not every team plays each other. Obviously there's only 4 teams in elite/1 but it doesn't seem as fair for the div 2 teams to be playing an extra game against one of these opponents as compared to a div 2 opponent.

All teams in Div 2 have two crossovers. If we didn't schedule that way the teams in Elite and Div 1 would have to play each other multiple times during the season and then again in the playoffs (so potentially 3 out of your 6 games would be against the same opponent). This was the most fair way to divvy up the schedule as each div 2 team has two crossovers so no one has an advantage over any other team (plus 4 out of 5 teams in Division 2 make the playoffs which is better than almost every other division in the league).
We tried to get another Division 2 team in the Fall but that fell through at the last moment as the team captain decided to wait until a couple days before the end of registration to mobilize a team! Would have solved everything.
