The PIT is expanding its operations!

For the upcoming Winter 2013 indoor season the PIT will be offering both women’s division and coed divisions. The PIT has fielded overtures to start both of these divisions for some time and we now feel that we have enough interest to ensure the viability of these divisions. In our fall session we currently have 5-6 coed teams already playing and we would like to consolidate these teams into a division of their own. In addition we know there are a lot of ladies currently playing in the PIT and we want to create a standalone division.

To help ensure that we get both the women’s and coed divisions off the ground we will be holding a free information session/football clinic open to both men and women interested in playing or coaching in one or both of these divisions. The clinic will be held on Saturday November 24th from 10:15pm to 11:15pm at the indoor complex. While the majority of the people on our email list are going to be guys we encourage everyone to alert their friends, girlfriends, wives, sisters etc. who may be interested in joining the ranks of touch football. The PIT would like to have a big turnout at the clinic. If you don’t have a team to play on we will be taking contact information to either place you on an existing team in need of a player or two or develop a free agent team for those ladies looking to play. There will be skill levels available from beginner to elite.

Please RSVP your attendance so we know approximately how many people to expect and how many handouts we would need to have printed. Please feel free to email us any questions that you have regarding the start of the women’s and coed divisions in the Winter indoor season.

A reminder that the women's and coed clinic/information session is tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:15pm on field #1. Bring your cleats as we will have some areas set up to test your skills and rookies can try out the game.

We will also have some representatives from the Manitoba Fearless women's tackle team who will be speaking about some summer options. The PIT Crew will also have a sign up available for those wanting more information regarding registering a team or an individual for our newest divisions. As always we will have some swag to hand out to those in attendance.

The PIT Crew had a great turnout to our first ever coed and women's division clinic on Friday. Over twenty participants showed up most new to the game. The rookies will add to what should be a pretty stacked coed division and the very gifted ladies in attendance should increase the talent tool for the women's division. A big thanks to Neil McKernan, Roxy Coxy, Cara Isaak, George Mills, Dave Robson and Damian Bialkowski for coming out to lend a hand and some experience at the clinic.

Registration will open December 1st for what should be another record breaking season of indoor. Here are some pictures of the clinic with some of the new faces you will be seeing around the complex come winter: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/542-coed-women-s-clinic-friday-november-23rd

Ladies get your teams ready and gentlemen find yourself a coed team, things just heated up for the winter season!
