Tiago Santos is the first ever recipient of the Boston Brute player of the week award. Tiago had 11 sacks opening weekend in the PIT; 6 versus the Young and the Rest of Us and 5 versus Spetsnaz. Although both games resulted in losses for the North End Hawkeyes, Tiago is on pace to smash the sack record for the season. If Tiago maintains this level of play throughout the season then perhaps we will be talking about him in the same sentence as the immortal Kenny Powers.

Mike Froese of Ninja Militia is the Boston Brute player of the week for week #2. Mike had 5 interceptions and 8 points in close 18-15 loss to the Micronauts. Who knows what the score would have been without the acrobatic play of Mr. Froese? The score could have been different as Mike got behind the Micronauts defense for the potential winning touchdown however the football gods frowned on Mike as the pass careened of the uprights at Frank Whyte field. While the score didn’t reflect his play, with game like that, Mike will be able to provide his own list of demands…in the end its something for the children.

Fritz Pacag of Bandwhorez United is our third recipient of the Boston Pizza “Brute of the Week” award. Fritz had 24 points, including 5 interceptions in the Bandwhorez 32-12 victory over System of a Touchdown. Remarkably at least three of those interceptions were returned for touchdowns. The PIT will be monitoring Fritz to see if he can keep up his 90 interception, 432 point pace for the remainder of the season. Fritz’s defensive play has earned him the right to be called the Boston “Super Pissed Rhino” Brute of the Week.

Shawn Pachet of the Snipers is the 4th recipient of the Boston Brute Player of the week award. Shawn scored 37 points and added a sack and an interception during the course of two games, a 39-19 victory over Necessary Roughness and a 36-22 defeat at the hands of the Bandwhorez. Shawn has been a big part of the hot start to the season by the Snipers and with 142 points already this season, Shawn is on pace to break the all-time league scoring record...in fact he is on pace to score 320 points...over 100 points better than the current record! Maybe teams should cover this guy!
Like Patrick Willis Shawn is fast enough that he can f#ck a Wildebeest up.

Marc Hebert of Eagle 88 is the newest Boston Brute Player of the Week award. Marc threw for 4 touchdowns and recorded a sack in Eagle 88’s 29-28 victory over the Brewers. Eagle 88 has jumped to the head of the class in Division 4 in just their first year in the PIT with Marc being a big reason for their success. There was some deliberation however about Marc getting the player of the week award as the team removed what could have been the best logo in touch football. The new one isn’t bad, but the old one was better!
Marc appears to be the new CEO in division 4. Now you shut up.

Damian McKenzie of the Micronauts has secured the 6th Boston Brute Player of the Week Award with his 4 sack, 2 interception, 12 point effort in a week 6 victory over Full Force. Damian has been playing touch for over 20 years and you wouldn’t think he skipped a beat with this performance. Damian currently sits third in the division in sacks despite not being the starting rusher on his own team.
We know Damian has skills, but does Damian have Kenny Power sized balls to talk sh#t to Urijah Faber?

Tom Kramer of the Renegades is the Week 7 Boston Brute Player of the Week Award Winner. Tom had 24 points in a big win over fellow contenders the Cobras. Tom is currently in the top 10 for both scoring and interceptions in Division 7 and a big reason why the Renegades are contending for the division lead despite moving up in calibre this year.
Just like Kenny Powers Tom gets his swell on rather than jump rope like a little school child.

Player of the week Goes Deep:
Jon Palmerton is the Week 8 Boston Brute Player of the Week Award winner. Jon had an interception and threw for a touchdown in Go Deeps 8 point defeat to the Vipers. The interception tied Jon for the team lead with Shaun Lothian and Patrick Zielinski. While Go Deep has had a tough time of things thus far in their first year of the PIT everyone makes playoffs so teams just have to peak at the right time!
Kenny Powers will whip them into playoff shape!

Kerry Surinx of Dreadnaught Doom Squad is the Week 9 Boston Brute Player of the Week Award Winner. Kerry threw 4 TD passes and had an interception in a victory over the Woodys. 20 years into league play and Kerry still has perhaps the strongest arm in all of touch football, it is a treat to watch him throw 70 yards without much effort! Dreadnaught started the season slow and has had a few injuries as well. If this team can get its full squad out they will be a team to be reckoned with come playoffs.
Unlike Jeremy Shockey Kerry doesn’t know what its like to fail
Kerry will receive a complementary gift certificate for a Boston Brute courtesy of Boston Pizza and the PIT. The gift certificate will be attached to a future game card.

Jon Mark Neufeld takes home the 10th edition of the Boston Brute Player of the Week Award. Jon threw for 3 TDs and ran in a fourth in the Running Riot’s upset victory over the always tough Snipers. Running Riot started the season a bit slow as they jumped a couple of divisions however they seem to be starting to hit their stride, demonstrating they can beat the best in possibly the toughest division in the PIT this year.
Jon might want to lend Matt Cassel some of his muscles:

Cody Kennard of He Hate Me and Sons of York fame takes home the Week 11 Boston Brute Player of the Week Award. He Hate Me had two games during week 11 and Cody raked up a pick and 24 points, who at the time, helped He Hate Me continue their quest to join the ’72 Dolphins and 2012 Avengers as the only undefeated teams to win a football championship. Cody, Luke and Jake Kennard have over 150 points combined and are taking both the PIT and the music scene by storm. No shout out to the immortal Kenny Powers this week, instead we lend some free advertising to the Kennard’s band Sons of York.
Cody will receive a complementary gift certificate for a Boston Brute courtesy of Boston Pizza and the PIT. The gift certificate will be attached to a future game card.

Garrett Waldbauer is the 12th recipient of the Boston Brute Player of the week award for his handiwork during the Blue Bongers victory over the Urban Animals. Garrett threw 5 touchdown passes to three different receivers (Steven Skehar with 3, and Tyler Waldbauer and Daniel Bernard with one each). Garrett also finished the season tied for 6th in touchdown passes with an impressive 49.
With those kind of stats Garrett will remain in the inner circle.
As the Boston Brute player of the week Garrett will receive a complementary gift certificate for a Boston Brute courtesy of Boston Pizza and the PIT.
