From out humble beginnings with 23 teams just 4 years ago, the PIT closed registration this year with 81 teams. After an exhaustive search of other touch football leagues in the city it is official...the PIT has become the largest outdoor touch football league in Canada, trumping Ottawa's 75 teams. This follows on the heels of the PIT become the largest indoor touch football league in Canada after we surpassed leagues in Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal this past Winter.
The future looks bright for the touch football in Manitoba as many of the new teams are comprised of players new to the game. The more players and teams there are the better the competition and the better the skill levels become. Perhaps in the future it won't be a surprise that the top team in Canada resides in Manitoba but an expectation!
We hope all teams enjoyed opening weekend and of course a big thanks to our membership for making the PIT their touch football destination and the place to play in Manitoba and Canada!
