After Maple Grove could not complete their field maintenance on time to start the season, the PIT obtained St. James Optimist for our kickoff weekend. Keep updated we may be moving some more games to Optimist to take advantage of the great field lining job completed. Big thanks to Neil McKernan and Riley who helped make the field as good as it is!

Here are some pics of our endeavor, let us know what you think! http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/468-st-james-optimist-may-11th-2012

Played it yesterday... great field, perfectly lined, very nice even surface. Can't wait for the south fields to come into play though!

With the PIT acquiring the second field at St. James Optimist for the remainder of the season it was quickly put into use. The field was cut, lined, and given the full complement of extras that you will only find in the PIT. The grass at Optimist is some of the best in touch football so we are sure teams are going to enjoy the playing surface.

Thanks to Neil Mckernan for helping out with the lining. Neil is great at lining, not so good at taking pictures! The production values were a bit low but that could have been something to do with Jason Voorhees making an appearance.

St. James Optimist #1 (football goal posts) was relined yesterday in preparation for the weekend's games. The full complement of lining (as always) was put down. The PIT Crew also got to relining some of the integral parts of Optimist #2 (red zone, 45s and center) as that field has taken a bit of a beating even though we have only used it a couple of weeks. Everyone do a rain dance! Optimist #2 will be coming out of rotation after Sunday.

Here are some pics of our craftsmanship: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums (if you aren't into fields check out the bikini pic and the Porsche with 4 football pads coming out of it!)

St. James Optimist was cut and lined in preparation for the 2012 playoffs. The normal accompaniment of lines: 5 yard increments, hash marks, directional arrows, numbering, player boxes etc were laid down. After dozens of field linings this year only 1 more to go! Here are some pictures of our playoff masterpiece: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/522-optimist-park-september-12-2012

Good luck to all teams in the playoffs and enjoy the field!

The second field at St. James Optimist was lined yesterday and given all of the extras that only the PIT can provide. Yesterday also marked the last field lining of the season - dozens of field linings and gallons of paint since our first field lining in early May. As promised the fields were lined every three weeks for the duration of the season, rain or shine.

The fields look great as we head towards crowing the champions of touch football in Winnipeg. Hopefully the playoff camaraderie will be in full effect with all the playoff games at the same location leading up to the championship games held on the artificial turf (and for some under the lights) at East Side Eagles field.

Just when we thought we were done with the field lining! With the dry weather wreaking havoc the PIT Crew came out to touch up the lines at Optimist Park. The major increments and red zones were all repainted just in time for the remaining semi-final match ups on Saturday. While the field is quite dry, the city came in a fertilized the fields which will hopefully rejuvenate the fields for the beginning of the 2013 season!

Here are the pictures of the touch ups: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/527-st-james-optimist-september-28th-2012

Good luck to the remaining teams Saturday, winners face off in the championship games on the turf of East Side Eagles field on Sunday.

St. James Optimist was paid a visit by Optimist Prime. The field received a full new lining in anticipation of the upcoming games. http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/581-st-james-optimist-june-14th-2013

More than meets the eye!

St. James Optimist was lined today. Teams should keep in mind that the field that was lined was the football goal posts not the soccer posts. We will be updating the schedule shorty.

Second (out of about 20) field linings in which the field had actually been cut on time. Here are some pictures of the park...along with some of my favorite things about summer: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/593-st-james-optimist-july-10th-2013

The last field linings of the year were completed on Wednesday as both fields at St. James Optimist were lined. Both fields are in great shape for the playoff run. All championship games will culminate at East Side Eagles field (which thankfully is prelined!).

After literally dozens of field linings and countless hours with the lazer liner the PIT can hang up the paint sprayer for another season. Optimist Park was lined...in the rain on Wednesday. The field is looking great and here are some pictures to attest to that: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/612-optimist-park-football-september-12th-2013

Good luck to all teams in their playoff games. Field conditions should be optimal at Optimist!

Drinking till nearly 4:00am then up in the morning a few hours later to put down the first lines at Optimist in the morning. While I wasn't in the best shape the field is surprisingly good considering the poor Spring weather we have had. For those of you playing at Optimist this week here is your first look at the field: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/662-optimist-park-may-2014

As an ode to Mother's day the PIT Crew also put in a sampling of pictures of our favorite MILFs. More updates will be forthcoming over the next few days as we ready our fields for the outdoor season.

Optimist Park got is second lining of the season yesterday in preparation for today's games. The lines that we put down just three weeks ago were pretty much nonexistent so it set the scene for a grand transformation which can be viewed here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/675-st-james-optimist-june-2014

Both St. James Optimist Football and St. James Soccer fields were lined last Friday in anticipation of the playoff run. Both fields are in great shape. With all of the rain and sun in August this is perhaps the best I have seen the fields be in this time of year. Here are some pics to back that optimism up: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/694-st-james-optimist-playoff-stylin

Fields won't be an excuse for getting knocked out the playoffs...although Lebron would probably try to find a way to do it.

St. James Optimist has been lined twice already this season, the grass grows so quickly this time of year that it does look like it needs a third field lining already. The first time we went out to Optimist there was snow on the ground...then lining it a week later is was desert hot. Can't beat Manitoba summers!

Here are some pics of our first and second cracks at Optimist:

Day 2: http://pitfootball.com/albums/732-st-james-optimist-twice

Optimist looks great, while the paint lasts!

St. James Optimist was relined for both the all-star game taking place this Saturday and the Championship finals on Sunday. Here are the pics of the finished product: http://pitfootball.com/albums/769-final-championship-field-linings

I have to send out a huge thank you to Brent Sliwiany and Dion Knol who took over the field lining duties about 2/3rds of the way through the season. They are both quick learners and hard workers and have kept our fields in mint condition for most of the summer. Next time you see those two be sure to thank them for all their hard work field lining this year!

St. James Optimist was lined for the second time this season. Along with the lining the fields were cut and five yard increments, player boxes, hash marks, numbers, etc were put on the field...the hardest working crew in rec sports did a great job. Check out their work here: http://pitfootball.com/albums/814-st-james-optimist-the-second-lining
