The PIT hit a new record for teams in the Spring as 48 teams will vie for 10 championship trophies beginning March 31st.
The Spring league has seen huge year after year growth. Here are the numbers:
Spring 2010: 24 teams, 5 divisions
Spring 2011: 32 teams, 6 divisions, 11 teams turned away due to league hitting capacity
Spring 2012: 48 teams, 10 divisions, 9 teams turned away due to league hitting capacity
That represents at 50% growth rate from last season and a 100% growth rate from just two years ago. Seems more teams are liking the idea of getting a jump start on the competition for summer ball.
