Looks like Ottawa has turfed three person reffing crews for the outdoor season. As far as I can tell Manitoba is now the only league that offers three person non-conscripted referee crews. Other leagues generally go with two referees, a conscripted referee in which two members of each team must show up for various assignments (which are unpaid) throughout the season, or gasp, in places like Kitchener there are no referees and players ref themselves (for essentially the same cost of registration that we have here!)

Here is the new mission statement out of Ottawa http://www.ontfl.com/

Another reason why the PIT is the largest touch football league in the city and fastest growing touch football league in the country! More information on the outdoor season will be available shortly. As the largest touch football organization in Manitoba we are able to offer the most different divisions of skill, from new to the game, to those wanting to take on the national touch football champions of Canada. If you want to play football we have a competitive division for you.

That is the number of titles won on Friday night by Chris "Defensive Mastermind" Krupa. Kroops took home championships with the Nomads, Levels!, and Blazers, and just missed going 4-4 if it wasn't for the Guild of Calamitous Intent. The 3 titles ties Neil Smalley for the most titles won in a single evening in the PIT. Mr. Smalley set the record during the fall season.

Want to win a championship? Add Kroops and Neil to your roster.

What are the odds the Edmonton Oilers would win the NHL lottery three consecutive years? You guessed it. Fail for Nail. Just like the 80s no matter what caliber of team the Jets field they will be squashed by the copper and blue...this time by the power of the Nuge Nail (sometime around 2015).
