Tavern United is back on board to provide player of the week awards for the Winter indoor season. Each player of the week winner will receive a $10 gift card valid at any Tavern United location! Gift cards will be attached to a future game card which will be presented to the player by the referee on hand.

Devon Kettner of The Tribe is our first player of the week recipient for his 4 sack performance in the Tribe's 20-16 victory over newcomers Can't Touch Dis. Our league appears to be obsessed with the Hammer but even their QB couldn't dance away from Devon's relentless pursuit.

With stats like that, Devon may one day be considered as legendary as these guys.

Stop, Hammer time.

The PIT membership's unexplainable obsession with MC Hammer will probably only grow after Shea Garber (of Can't Touch Dis fame) wins the latest installment of the player of the week award. Shea had 7 sacks in Can't Touch Dis's first ever victory in the PIT. Can't Touch Dis edged Da Beers in a 26-18 back and forth barn-burner. Seven sacks in a game is pretty rare, even rarer for a first year player who not coincidentally is currently leading division 11 in sacks.

With games like that Shea might get his own island!

Tebowing has hit the PIT.

Dale Karpiak of In Tebow We Trust is the third recipient of the Saturday Night Player of the Week award. In the game of the night, In Tebow We Trust edged Team Ramrod 32-26. Set the scene. With less than a minute left in the game Team Ramrod was down 26-18 but a Travis Irvine to Troy Szaura TD pass followed by a two-point convert from the same combination tied the game. With the game destined for overtime, Brad Karpiak avoids the rush and hits family member Dale on the last play of the game capping a miracle finish. This back-and-forth affair had two 26 point scorers, Troy Szaura (Team Ramrod) and Dale Karpiak (In Tebow We Trust), but Dale gets the nod for catching the game winner with no time remaining. The PIT, where parity reigns and "Tebow-like" finishes are the norm!

I shouldn't slag on the guy, maybe he is in line with a higher power if he is dating someone like this:

Tommy Howes of the Guild of Calamitous Intent is last weeks player of the week award winner. Tommy was called up to the show after demonstrating his wares in Division 2 ball and he responded in a huge way recording three touchdowns, a safety, and 7 sacks in his rookie debut. Tommy speed and hands were never questioned, but when the Guild of Calamitous Intent rusher suddenly retired Tommy was the first to volunteer, recording sacks on the first three offensive plays of the game including the aforementioned safety. While Tommy couldn't keep up his 50 sack pace, we think 7 isn't too shabby.

If Tommy keeps up it up he may be getting comparisons to this guy:

Why is Jon's voice so high pitched?

Paul Shawa of the PIT league takes the Satruday night player of the week award for his performance during the Venum vs Hard as Fu@K game. Despite an overtime loss, Paul was a force during the game with two touchdowns caught and a pick for good measure, all done with tennis shoes on!!! The only imaginable smoother maneuver would be doing the Dub-C walk while entering the endzone!! Love this clip so much, it's the second time I've used it.

The PIT presents Paul a $10 gift card valid at any Tavern United location! Gift cards will be attached to a future game card which will be presented to the player by the referee on hand.

PIT player of the week serves up a heaping bowl of Ballsagna.

Elliot Hudecki of Ballsagna is the reigning Tavern United Player of the Week award winner. Elliot kept Ballsagna's playoff hopes alive by scoring 24 points and snagging 2 interceptions in their narrow 33-27 victory over a veteran laden Despies team. Ballsagna is representing themselves well and currently sit in third place in Division 3. A well-earned accomplishment considering the calibre of teams in the division.

With play like even Carl couldn't deny that Elliot was the stone cold lock of the century...of the week.

Elliot will receive a $10 gift card valid at any Tavern United location! Gift cards will be attached to a future game card which will be presented to the player by the referee on hand.

Jake Nicholls of the Hurricanes is the newest Tavern United Player of the Week award winner. Jake scored all 12 of the Hurricanes points in close 16-12 loss to the Scoregasms in a game rife with playoff implications. Division 12 looks to be the toughest division in the winter with just two points separating worst from first. Jake is currently second in scoring demonstrating, unlike Aziz Ansari, he has game. Just a tip to the Hurricanes: they will find playoff success if "they keep their defense offensive"

Michael Peltz is the latest winner of the player of the week award. Michael earned some "prestige" on the weekend scoring 10 points in Prestige Worldwide's close 45-42 defeat at the hands of the Butterfingers. In the game of the night, Prestige Worldwide had to knockoff the division leader Butterfingers to earn a spot in the playoffs, and while they gave everything they had, they fell just a little short of causing an incredible 5-way tie for first place! With the 10 points Michael also vaulted himself into the top 10 scorers for the division. With this season under their belt, Prestige Worldwide will hopefully be adapting to the outdoor game...and hopefully better than the dinosaurs did.

http://

Honorable mentions to Chris Silva and Ryan Ferland of The Butterfingers who also had stellar games.

Michael will receive a $10 gift card valid at any Tavern United location! Gift cards will be attached to a future game card which will be presented to the player by the referee on hand.

Congratulations from your PIT Crew
