Here is a brief run down of each of the championship games during the PITs record setting indoor season!

Elite - Avengers defeat The Villains 55-25
Avengers capture the sweep of Fall and Winter indoor by knocking off the undermanned Villains in the elite final. The Avengers were led by the 26 points of Harlo Larkin and 20 points of Mike Brownridge as the dual ran roughshod over the Villains D all night. Replying for the Villains was Arthur Garand who threw four TD passes against what many consider the best defence in Canada. Arthur threw three of those TD passes to Brad “Roughrider bound” Black who gouged the Avengers across the deep middle of the field all night. Catch of the Winter session went to Greg Robinson of the Avengers who made a full out diving fingertip catch on the sidelines and proceeded somehow to slide 12 feet on his face following the miraculous grab! Have fun picking those rubber pellets out of your ear!

Division 1 - Guild of Calamitous Intent defeat Iced Earth 30-26
In the second consecutive meeting in the championship final, the Guild evened the series at 1-1. Iced Earth was led by Neil Gwizon’s 18 points and 2 INTs, while Ryan Harbour and Justin Noble replied with 12 points a piece for the Guild. As a testament to how even these teams are, the Guild were felled in OT in the fall championship game and won the Winter session on a touchdown with just one second remaining in the game!

Division 2 - Rebels defeat Swayze Love Hitmen 25-24
The Rebels were the first team to play 8 games in a season, winning all three playoff games by a grand total of eight points. Led by Harlo Larkin’s 12 points, the Rebels defeated the upstart Swayze in a closely contested come from behind victory, which was a hallmark of the Rebels playoff success. All teams in this division were so closely contested that the division leader had a 3-2 record, with the remaining 4 teams all finishing at 2-3!

Division 3 - Despies defeat Beware of Catwoman 39-32
In one of the highest scoring games of the night, the Jeff Draper led Despies battled the might of the Catwoman. Catwoman kept the game close via Damian Bialkowski’s 18 point, one INT performance, but were trumped by Jeff Drapers 19 points, including an acrobatic touchdown catch over the new Avenger recruit Marshal Cox for the eventual game winner. All hail the Draper!

Division 4 - Country Boyz defeat Polk High 34-0
In what was set to be a classic turned into a romp as the wheels fell of Polk High in the championship game. The Country Boyz jumped out to an early led thanks to mid-season recruits Jerry White (4 TD passes and 6 points) and Tyler Lamerante’s 7 points. Polk High only lost twice all season, both at the hands of the Country Boyz who seemed to match up well with the division leaders. County Boyz captain Joey Fryza adds a third piece of hardware to his championship trophy case.

Division 5 - Guacamole Diet Pills defeat The Replacements 19-12
In touch football, it is not often that the winning QB throws less TD passes that the losing one, but Mike “Polish” Paluszek accomplished that feat. The running QB had a score and a TD pass while his counterpart Nicolas Cobb threw for two in a losing effort for the Replacements. Controversy did exist prior to this game as former 4 Horseman and WWE heavyweight champion Lex Luger was ruled ineligible to play. One of the PIT execs was last seen getting “racked” on a waterslide in Regina.

Division 6 - Mexicans defeat FAT Predators 32-27
The Mexicans win their second straight winter title on the strength of Pat Allan’s 4 TD pass, six point effort. The Mexican’s spread offence was in full effect as Justin Hink, Simon Ritchie, Warren Murphy, and Gord Woodall all had TD receptions. The upstart FAT Predators have enjoyed considerable success in their short time as a team and rumours abound they will be one of several new teams added to the outdoor league. The Predators were led by David Lundberg’s 18 points.

Division 7 - Da Killa Beez defeat Nomads 27-26 (Overtime)
Da Killa Beez had the biggest comeback of the night defeating the Nomads in overtime via a QB sneak by RB. The Nomads were up 17 points in the second half only to stall on offence and have the Beez tie the game on a Hail Mary on the last play of the game in which Beez WR Brett Thurston took the ball away from the Nomads DB Kanwal Saran. The spirited overtime session had the Beez score the only point in the defensive affair.

Division 8 - Dogg Pound defeat Roughnecks 38-12
After an injury-riddled campaign the Dogg Pound was able to put together their most complete game of the season, defeating the Roughnecks on the back of Jeff Klumpers 13 points and Kevin “MVP” Coyles 6 TD passes. Both teams had their respective starting QBs knocked out for the season, and the battle of the “backups” proved to be an exciting affair.

Division 9 - Onslaught defeat Yolmes 31-20
Onslaught finally broke through their championship slump (0-5) by defeating the surging Yolmes who dropped their first three games of the season, only to turn it around and enter the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the league. The Yolmes were led by the resurgent Mike Weeks who threw three TD passes, but could not out dual the “Onslaught” that was Justin Noble’s 19 points and a pick.

Division 10 - Schmucks defeat The Butterfingers 41-13
Schmucks win! Schmucks win! Another team that has been bitten by the injury bug, the Schmucks – one of the PIT leagues original teams, were simply too much for the short-staffed Butterfingers. The Schmucks were led by Len Koberstein’s 4 TD passes, Nick Gambles 18 points and 2 picks, and Geoff “Bionic Knee” Dueck Theissen’s six points and 2 sacks. Schmucks win! Schmucks win!

Division 11 - Peppermint Hippo defeat Solid Oak 24-13
The Hippo continue to move up the standings taking home their second consecutive winter trophy by defeating Solid Oak in a game that was much closer than the score would indicate. The Hippo were led by Damian “Stepping it up in the playoffs” Bialkowski’s 12 points, which were countered by Reid Buchanan’s 2 TD passes for Solid Oak. Owen “recruited for every sport offered by Ohio State” Nagy, did nothing for the Hippo and is believed to have been cut by his team. Good luck in div 2 next season Hippos!

Division 12 - Sloppy Secondary defeat Can’t Touch This 14-12
Sloppy Secondary ran the annual winter gauntlet defeating Can’t Touch This 14-12. It was the second game for both teams as earlier in the night Sloppy Secondary defeated You Can’t Coach that (who had half their team riding the Love Boat) 31-6, while Can’t Touch This defeated Black Magic 7-0 in a high scoring game of jai alai. Incredibly, it was Christian Brunel’s 4th game of the night!
Here are some highlights of the jai alai game:

Division 13 - Free Agents Winter 2011 defeat Benders 17-12
For the second year in a row, the Winter free agent team wins their respective championship game. The Miami Heat should follow the PIT’s model of free agent acquisitions! Led by Andrew Brelis’s 10 points and an INT, they were able to knock off the resident PIT trophy thieves The Benders who always seem to be in championship contention. Replying for the Benders was Jamie Pittumbur who had 12 points and an INT.

Division 14 - River Rats defeat Deep Punts 27-24
David Lundberg scores a championship in his debut as a QB in the PIT, throwing for four touchdowns, three to game MVP Jermaine Lumsden and one to Jeff Eyamie. Replying for the playoff tested Deep Punts were Daniel Yusim with 12 points, and Daniel Sutcliff and Andrew McBride with 6 points a piece. Kudos to these two teams who knocked off both the top seeds in the division in their respective semi-finals.

Division 15 - Average Joes defeat VG Unit 24-6
The Average Joes left their mark on the PIT in there very first season defeating another new team to the PIT, in the VG Unit. The VG Unit came of a high scoring last minute victory the night before over Weiner and Taco but couldn’t carry their up-tempo game over to the next night. The Average Joes defence was able to shut down the VG Unit and the offence poured in 24 points lead by Landon Orchard’s 18 points and Jude Desrosiers 4 TD passes, six points, and one interception.

Division 16 – Downtown defeat Slobberknockers 30-18
The Downtown derailed the Slobberknockers undefeated season. Christian Brunel’s threw three TD passes to three different receivers (Neil Smalley, Teagan Sakaluk, and Jordan Orieux) in a losing effort, but was out-gunned by Alan Devries’ three TD passes to Mike Swain, Richard Matos, and Mike Desmarais, as well as a QB sneak for a TD.

Congratulations to each of the teams who took home one of the 17 trophies handed out in the Winter. Each player on the championship teams will have their names engraved “Stanley Cup” style on each of the trophies, forever immortalizing their accomplishments in PIT lore!

it has come to my attention some corrections need to be made here. The div 5 final score (not that it really matters) was 21-12.
the winning qb did throw more td passes then run for them (one was not accounted for apparently). as well he had a booming punt(went over the field divides) that resulted in a single (that apparently didnt show up on the score sheet)
and a point can be made that the replacements were missing Cobb their starting qb and his absence was evident.

A correct observation was made about lex luger and im pretty sure a protest would have been filed if gauc didnt win.
