The University of Manitoba’s indoor touch football facility informed the PIT yesterday that the middle curtain that separates field 2 and 3 must be raised while league games occur. What does this mean to you? We can no longer have anyone stand on the sidelines during league play, because when people have their heads turned away from the action on adjacent fields nasty stuff can happen, situations that were buffered by the lowered curtain. We will also require that all equipment including footballs, tees, water and gym bags be kept away from this area. Players must stay behind the endzones while game play is occurring. Please make sure that all equipment is stored at the furthest point away from the field of play to decrease the potential of injury of players running through the endzone.
Teams and players that do not follow these rules will have delay of game penalties accessed to them for violating these new rules.
This is a decision made by the facility that the PIT’s membership must honour.
