Messages for First Ever Indoor All-Star Game

For the first time in indoor, the PIT will have a "mid-season" all star game. Just like the all-star game we offered in outdoor, the PIT would like to acknowledge the players who helped the league become the biggest and best touch football league in Manitoba. As such, the first PIT all-stars will be the respective captains of each of the teams in the indoor league.
Without the team captains, who chase around their teammates for registration money, ensure players get to the field, work around the schedules of others, deal with the day-to-day drama, and generally have their hair turn gray with the joys of organizing recreational touch football, the PIT would not exist. Team captains might not lead their respective divisions in points, TD passes, interceptions, or sacks, but they are the true all-stars, and should be acknowledged as such.
The inaugural PIT All-Star Game will be held Sunday, February 20th at the indoor complex. Game time(s) will begin starting at 10:15. Since there are a record 94 teams, we are willing to run multiple all-star games depending on response. All team captains have been notified regarding their participation in the game and we hope all can attend the night to be held in their honor. Please RSVP if you can attend the all-star game, team captains may send another representative if they are not able to attend. This should be stated in the RSVP. If we have a large response we will have multiple games broken down by divisions (e.g., Div 1-4 all star game, div 5-8 all-star game, etc).
Congratulations from the PIT Crew!

Teams for the all-star game have now been posted on the standings page here: http://www.pitfootball.com/standings
Teams consist of 12 players per team, with games being 1 hour and 15 minutes in duration. Each half will be 35 minutes with a five minute half time. The games are longer to reflect the larger rosters. Team 1 will play Team 2 at 10:15, Team 3 will play Team 4 at 11:45. The schedule is posted here: http://www.pitfootball.com/seasons/628-winter-indoor-2011/games/all/2
Each team has been assigned a team captain. Players should report to the team captain at least 15 minutes prior to game time so that positions can be assigned. Keep in mind that players should be rotated through due to the large rosters. Each team has also been assigned a color (black or white) so please remember to bring an appropriate jersey/t-shirt. The colors can be found both in the team name and on the individual team pages.
General rules:
1. All players must be given equal playing time - NO EXCEPTIONS!
2. No QB may play the position for more than one half in total. Each team has multiple QBs so teams should provide equitable playing time for each QB. If there is more than 2 QBs on a team, then teams can decide on splitting series.
3. Rushers should be rotated so that no one is required to rush as their position on the all-star team.
4. Have fun and QBs remember to spread the ball around so that everyone has their chance to get into the game!
Congratulations to each of the all-stars! If anyone was missed please let us know asap!

The first ever indoor all-star games went last night and they were a blast to be a part of and to watch! Each game had a great turnout, perhaps entrenching the all-star game as a fixture for future seasons. Congratulations to all of the all-stars who attended and to each of the team captains who kept the game fun for their respective teams. In the first game Team Black defeated Team White 27-14, with Team White evening the series 44-32 in the nightcap game.
Congratulations to Daniel Sapirstein of the White Mambas, Neil Smalley of the Slobberknockers/Rebels, and Tyler Lamerante of You Can't Coach That who were the respective MVPs of the game. Daniel had a TD and a convert, Tyler had three TD receptions, and Neil had 18 points and added a TD pass. Each of the MVPs walked away with a gift certificate from Tony Romas for their efforts! While they didn't get an MVP nods, Brandon Johnson of Sloppy Secondary had 12 points, two sacks, and an interception and deserves an honorable mention, as does Hoan Mac who had a TD pass and three sacks!
The all-star games were not the only games going on last night, which had some great games and plays. Of note, Kory "Eli" Stagg, fresh of ankle replacement surgery with some great catches including a huge TD catch in traffic, and Owen "Owes Jon 4 Beers" Nagy who had the catch of the night, pulling down a finger tip grab while getting his nose broken in the Avenger game. Don't worry Owen, chicks dig dudes with scars!

The pictures are up for the all-star game and can be seen here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/353-indoor-all-star-game-2011. A big shout out to all the team captains who participated in the first ever indoor touch football all-star game. Without the team captains the PIT football league would not be the fastest growing touch football league in Canada!
Be sure to check out both pages of pictures. Thanks to the PIT's resident photographer extraordinaire Mae Robinson for another job well done!
