The PIT has resurrected one of the most entertainingly absurd tournaments in Manitoba folklore. After a five year hiatus, Brad Kelm is once again putting on the Grand Beach Touch Football Classic.

When: Saturday August 7th
Where: Grand Beach (yes, right on the beach!)
Why: Football, bikini's and beer
Babes: Yes
Drinking: Copious
Cost: $175 per team payable to Brad Kelm (our esteemed head referee)
Skill level: Doesn't matter, you will be drunk (all teams welcome; all teams make playoffs; playoff divisions divided by skill level)
Prizes: Numerous - cash prizes to winners, swag, and the typical sponsorship deals only found in the PIT. All teams registered for the tournament receive prizes!
The game: 5 on 5; small field (think indoor only narrower and shorter!); game times 50 minutes. Minimum 4 games guaranteed.
Games start first thing in the morning and we play until the surf club starts bumpin.

Hey everyone, registration is now up to 6 teams for the Grand Beach Tournament. Last couple of spots are open as is the free agent team if you are looking to get in on the action. Registration is due Thursday August 5th. Schedule will be up on Friday August 6th.

The tournament format will be round robin with teams breaking into divisions for playoffs based on the results of the earlier games. We will have multiple division championships. So don't worry about calibre, come playoffs all teams have an equal chance of bringing home the trophy and swag!

Last call for the PIT's first ever Grand Beach Tournament. We have 7 teams registered and are looking for one last team to round out the playing field, so act fast! Registration is due Thursday August 5th, with the schedule and all information out to teams on Friday August 6th.

The PIT has also lined up some great sponsors for individual and team prizes. Just some of the sponsors include: Amici's restaurant, Tony Romas, LA Travel, and Presto Pizza. Of course the PIT will have gear to give away as well.

All teams are guaranteed 4 games. For playoffs, the teams will be split into Div 1, Div 2 and Div 3. All divisions receive cash prizes and PIT Championship t-shirts. Individual players will also get free swag from our sponsors at the Surf Club following the championship games (must be in attendance to claim the prizes!)

The playoff schedule will be posted tomorrow after I confer with Brad "Grand Beach Guru" Kelm about start times.

Hey everyone, sorry for the late update, but I had to sort through all the pics and awards. Here is the lowdown: 6 teams, 2 fields, copious drinking, and more than a few bikinis in the stands, all characterized the PIT's first Grand Beach Touch Football Classic. The action on the field was hot, the girls hotter, and one arrest made the tournament legendary (more on that later)!

Congratulations to all teams, and the division champions, which were as follows:
Division 1: The PITFootball.com Wicked Awesomes (runner up 4th and 10 inches)
Division 2: Daisey's Dukes (runner up The Booty Patrol)
Division 3: Achilles Last Stand (runner up HFC)

All championship teams got decked out in PITFootball.com wear, while runner-ups were outfitted courtesy of LA Travel.

Great games, great camaraderie, great times. We will definitely do it again next year! Also a big shout out to Brad Kelm for organizing the tournament and reffing all day, and to Ziggy Haluik and Don Hink who also contributed huge in the reffing department. Just bring better game for the after party Greg!
