Tony Romas is back on board to sponsor both the Spring and the Summer Warrior of the Week. Special thanks to Brad Kelm for setting up this great sponsorship! Each week the player deemed to be the Warrior of the Week will receive a gift certificate for $15 for use at any Tony Romas location in Winnipeg.

The warrior of the weeks for week 1 is Balgit Gill of the Jayhawks. Balgit had an interception in the Jayhawks first ever game in the PIT. While the score wasn't friendly to the Jayhawks they do have some veteran players who won a division 7 championship in the PIT's inaugural season. Here are some highlights from the Jayhawks first two games in the Spring! http://

Week 2 had some great games to choose from, including the Mustard Tigers 13-12 victory over Dr. Rockso's Three Ring Circus. Beau Maryniuk hauled in the winning score from Hoan Mac late in the game to secure the Warrior of the Week during the PIT's second weekend of play. Beau is definitely an up and comer in the league with a few circus catches already under his belt. If you want to know their secret, the Mustard Tigers are 2-0 when reenacting their favorite Trailer Park Boys scene: http:// ***LANGUAGE WARNING***

Free Agent cashes in on Warrior of the Week Award

The PIT Crew got a little behind with all the field maintenance and scheduling that we forgot our week 3 Warrior of the Week, which was kind of difficult to do since Benjamin McGregor of Free Agent Time had the biggest game of Spring season thus far. Free Agent Time broke their winless streak by defeating the Polk High All-Stars 38-21 on the strength of Benjamin's 5 touchdowns and one interception. Having a 30-point receiving game should put you in line with some of these guys: http://

Congrats from the PIT, Benjamin will receive a gift certificate from Tony Romas for his efforts.

Octo-man becomes the most current Warrior of the Week.

Cliff "Octo-man" Kitchen is the Spring's 4th Warrior of the week. Cliff had a monstrous game scoring a receiving TD, returning an interception for a TD, sacking the QB, and scoring a safety in the Blazers victory over the Barracudas game on Friday (what's the matter Cliff, can't throw for a TD as well?). Earlier in the night Octo-man scored another TD and picked off a second pass in the Nomads upset victory over No D in a cross over game. Congrats to Cliffy for his outstanding performance on Saturday. Cliffy might not know the name of the super-villain he tried to pattern himself after but don't mess with him! http://

A shout out to Kory "Eli" Stagg and the PIT's chief mixologist who together orchestrated the best comeback in Spring league history. Down by 13 points with under 3 minutes left Eli Stagg hit Owen Nagy for a TD, then after a 3-and-out from Dr.Rockso's Kory hit Owen for their second TD on the final play of the game. Down by 1, Stagger wasn't attempting to kiss his sister and instead when for the win. With the game on the line the dual of Stagg-Nagy hooked up for the winning 2 point convert sending the facility into an uproar and Dr. Rockso's to a 32-31 defeat. Here is NFL discussion/footage of the Polk-High/Dr.Rockso's championship drive http:// Quote: "You won't see a more memorable moment than this!"

Congrats to all for a great weekend of football

Patryk Bromirski of the Benders is the Warrior of the Week as the PIT wrapped up its first Spring regular season. Patryk propelled the Benders into the playoffs by recording 4 points and 6 sacks in a victory over the Jayhawks. His six sacks hearken comparisons to another pass rusher whose last name also began with a "B" http://

Patryk will receive a $15 gift certificate courtesy of Tony Romas and Brad Kelm. Congrats to Patryk and all of the over Warriors of the Week during the PIT's inaugural spring season. Good luck to all teams running the playoff gauntlet next weekend!
