Any given day in the PIT! Wow, what a game I just had the pleasure of watching. The Decepticons with the number one ranking played a very skilled 2 and Out a few hours ago. This game was a defencive struggle, but in a great way. These division 9 teams moved the ball down the field with ease, but each team stalled in the Red zone. If you guessed overtime, then you are correct. In the end the game was decided by one point. The fourth seeded team (2and Out) made good on their last convert throw to take the lead for the win, with the final score 13-12. Jon and myself want to thank both teams for the great season, and have already got confirmation that both teams are coming back for the Winter session. 2 and Out owes the Decepticons a beer for very graciously moving their playoff game from Saturday to Friday, Classy move!

A few big upsets already in the playoffs. In Division 9 the 4th seeded 2 and Out defeated the top seeded Decepticons, and Levels! in Division 4 avenged their loss a week earlier against the previously undefeated Titans. In Division 1 action, the Untouchables reached their first final appearance by defeating the juggernaut Aztecs team who regularly finish first. Any given day in the PIT!

Not a good night to be a first seed as the playoff upsets continued.

With top seeds Titans and Decepticons already knocked out, the #1 ranked Brewers were shocked by the Daisey Dukes in overtime in one of the most exciting games of the season. With the Brewers down by 8 with 14 seconds left and on their own 10 yard line a backfield play was drawn up with the completed pass going back to the QB for only a marginal gain. However a great after the catch run by Tyler Johnston and 4 laterals later the Brewers were in the endzone. With a successful two point convert the game went to OT, where the Daisey Dukes regained composure and pulled off the upset when Eric Yuen hit Cam Young for the winning score.

Not to be outdone the fourth seeded Panthers knocked off the top ranked Anvils in a bit of a romp while the fourth seeded Barracudas knocked off the top seed Moe & Lesters 32-30 in another potential game of the night. In 6 of the 10 divisions the top seeded team has already been eliminated from the playoffs. Hopefully we have some more great games, only in the PIT does such parity exist.

Congrats to the Avengers for winning the elite division title, making them the first four-time champions of the PIT. The Avengers knocked off the much improved Pimp Champ Daddys who have talent to burn but just need some seasoning at touch game. All other championships go tonight including the Division 10 gauntlet. The playoff picture has been updated with all games scheduled here: http://www.pitfootball.com/games/playoffs

Here are the matchups:
DIVISION 1: Guild of Calamitous Intent (1) vs Untouchables (3)
DIVISION 2: Superteam (1) vs HoJo Express (2)
DIVISION 3: Beer Belly Bastards (2) vs Barracudas (4)
DIVISION 4: Get Your Popcorn Ready (2) vs Levels (4)
DIVISION 5: Nomads (1) vs So Smooth DIPS (3)
DIVISION 6: Awesome-O (3) vs Daisey Dukes (4)
DIVISION 7: Chuggernauts (1) vs Street Meat (3)
DIVISION 8: Show Us Your TDs (3) vs Panthers (4)
DIVISION 9: Pick 6 (3) vs 2 and Out (4)
DIVISION 10: TBA vs TBA

Good luck to all teams in the championships tonight.
