Alot happened over the weekend to set up some interesting playoff matchups. I have been using my abacus all day to try to figure out all the combinations and permutations for the playoff run. Here is a run-down.

In Division 4:
A three way tie for first in division 4, with all three teams having one win against one other. Gladiators prevail with the better +/-followed by So Smooth, and Moe & Lesters.

In Division 5:
The Mighty Schmucks grab the last playoff spot in division 5 by virtue of beating the Midnight Monkeys during the regular season by a closely contested 32-27 margin. Dogg Pound finishes second because of their head to head win over Team Nature.

In Division 7:
The Titans finish first due to their defeat of The Bandits in overtime on Saturday (perhaps the longest game in PIT football history). The Yogurt Shooters fall all the way to fourth after their 20-18 loss to the Cougars.

In Division 9:
Dr.Rockso's outlasted the Anvils last night 24-16 in a highly entertaining battle to grab the last playoff spot. The Blue Ballers retain second place due to their overtime victory over the Chuggernauts in the regular season.

All playoff games have been updated on each team’s schedule.

Important games of note for the upcoming weekend:
Division 1: The upcoming Aztecs/Blitzkrieg game will help decide spots 2-4; First place Blazers have a rematch with the Elite division Assassins
Division 2: The Hurricanes/Superteam and Kings/Fubar games will decide spots 2-4 and who is eliminated from the playoffs
Division 6: Look up 'log jam' and you will see division 6. 3 teams are at 2-2; the Nomads/Facekick and Aces/Levels will play out to see which 3 teams make the playoffs and which team is left out in the cold.
Division 8: The Beercats/Dazed and Confused game will decide who finishes second, third, and forth.
Division 10: The upstart Solid Oak team faces the ManwhOr3z for first place, while the River City Ninja Bombers play the Hobo Olympians for the final playoff spot.
Womens Division: The Misfits play the Wildcats which has implications for 2nd through 4th place and who avoids the dreaded first round match-up with the juggernaut Chargers team.
Div 7 kicks off the Winter 2009 playoffs on Saturday.

Good to see all the parity in each of the divisions has kept the majority of teams in the hunt through the final weekend.

The current playoff picture has been updated on the schedule.

In Div 8: The Dazed and Confused victory propelled them to second place and a playoff against the Barracudas who finished ahead of the Beercats by viture of points for and against (both teams has one victory against one another in divisional play)
In Div 6: Nomads will get a chance to avenge their season loss to the Levels! in first round action, whereas Wraith will try to avoid being Facekicked.
In Div 2: Hurricanes had the wind knocked out of them by Superteam who will now face Fubar in the first round, with the Kings and Morningwood going a second round after their epic first battle.
In Women's action the Misfits knocked off the Wildcats to tie their season series. These two evenly matched teams will battle it out again in the playoffs with the Chargers taking on the team with our favorite name: Girls Gone Wild.

Tonight we will see the beginning of the playoffs with Div 7 facing off, and playoff alignments for Div 1 and Div 10 will be settled.

The playoff picture has been updated after last nights games:

In Division 10 the Manwh0rz3 defeated a depleted Solid Oak team to take first place and play the clutch River City Ninja Bombers who had to win out their last two games to make playoffs. Solid Oak will now face the Monarch Red Lions featuring the Boyd Barrett show.

In a cross-over battle The Boats and Blazers tried to hand the Shealess Assassins a victory, but managed to win a thriller after the Assassin's potentially tying TD on the final drive was ruled an 'illegal reentry' by the receiver.

In Division 7 playoffs the Titans avenged their regular season loss to the Yogurt Shooters and the Bandits felled the Cougars to set up the rematch of the longest game in PIT Football History in which the Titans slipped passed the Bandits in overtime.

Good luck to all teams in the playoffs!

Friday night:

In Division 1: The Aztecs knocked off Blitzkrieg and the Boats and Blazers got by the Untouchables in a division where teams just seem to trade wins against one another.

In Division 3: The Hyenas try to become one of the first "PIT League two time champions" after defeating the Weekend Warriors, while Big Deal knocked off Beer Belly in a shootout.

In Division 5: The Abusement Park took out the Mighty Schmucks and will also try to win their second straight championship versus the Dogg Pound who defeated Team Nature in a battle.

In Division 8: The first place Polk High All-Stars were shocked by the Beercats, who now take their winning streak up against Dazed and Confused who doubled-up on the Barracudas.

Saturday night:
More upsets on Saturday continuing the parity theme in the PIT:

In Division 2: No Morningwood as the Kings rolled; The Kings will play Superteam......er, Fubar in the championship game. Fubar defeated the fall champions in grand style.

In Division 4: The first place Gladiators were knocked off by the Ninjas who had a big game from Michael Froese; who will now go up against So Smooth who avenged their regular season loss to Moe & Lesters.

In Division 6: First place and previously undefeated Wraith fell to FaceKick; while the up and coming Levels! bested the Nomads in what might have been the game of the night.

Finally in Women's Division action The Chargers continue to roll setting up a match with the Misfits who took the season series two games to 1 versus the Wildcats.
