Our third inductee to the Manitoba Touch Football Hall of Fame is Tannis Wilson. Tannis was elected by the Hall of Fame committee in the Builder category. To be considered for selection in the Builders category, an individual must have contributed to the game significantly in areas outside of the competitive arena (i.e. administrator, league architect, innovator, instructor, coach etc.). Builders have changed the game for the better and lay the groundwork for the future success of touch football in Manitoba.
Congratulations to Tannis Wilson, who is really a "who's who" in touch, flag, and tackle football circles. Tannis has dedicated her life to changing the game and has promoted women's football at the highest levels. Check out just some of her highlights:
π₯ 1988 won the Open division at the National touch football championships with the Crimson Tide
π₯ President of the WTFL for 12 years
π₯ 2006 founded the Winnipeg Womenβs Flag Football League
π₯ 2007 founded the Manitoba Fearless, the first all female tackle team in Manitoba
π₯ 2011 co-founded the Western Women's Canadian Football League (WWCFL)
π₯ 2011 co-founded the Manitoba Girls Football Association (MGFA)
π₯ 2012 received the Manitoba Women Entrepreneur of the Year for commitment to community, for her contribution to football and creation of Women's/Girls football.
