You are invited to tryout for the 17U Canadian Flag Football Team which will represent Canada at the 17U International Tournament.
ELIGIBILITY:
🔥Athletes must be born in 2006 or 2007 to be eligible to participate.
🔥Players playing on the Canada Cup tackle team will be ineligible to participate. The two tournament dates unfortunately overlap.
TRYOUTS:
🔥Free to tryout
🔥Date: Sunday, April 16, 2023
🔥Location: Axworthy Health and Recplex, University of Winnipeg, 350 Spence Street
🔥Time: 430pm to 7:00pm
EVENT INFORMATION:
🔥 July 4-8, 2023
🔥 United States Performance Center (University of North Carolina, Charlotte)
🔥 Accommodations and meals to be provided on campus.
🔥 Competition to take place on the campus turf fields.
COSTS:
🔥 Tournament registration and accommodations will be $250 USD per athlete.
o Includes three meals daily in dining hall.
o Includes bus transportation to and from airport and on campus.
o Includes accommodations.
o Includes all tournament registration fees.
🔥Flights must be paid for by the athlete.
🔥Partial team funding may be provided by Football Canada (TBA)
🔥Team fundraising opportunities will be explored after tryouts.
SELECTION PROCESS:
🔥 Up to 20 athletes will be selected from the above tryouts (Phase 1)
🔥 Those selected will participate in a Spring Training Season (Phase 2)
🔥 Upon completion of Phase 2, a roster of 10 athletes plus 3 alternates will be selected.
🔥 Alternates will continue to train with the team and may be called upon in cases of injury or non-payment.
