Is the 2019 Hall of Fame class the best so far? We will leave that up to you to decide. We will be updating our 2019 Hall of Fame Class this week as we pay homage to some of the greatest touch football players in Manitoba history!
Jake Kornelsen has been inducted into the Players category of the Hall of Fame!
"To be considered for selection in the Player's Hall of Fame, a player must have led the league in one or more statistical categories on a minimum of ten different occasions. Those ten occasions may come from any division and include statistical leaders in both indoor and outdoor seasons. Players may also be considered if they have played a minimum of ten years of football (both inside and outside of the PIT) and have reached a level of success (as measured by sportsmanship, productivity, and perseverance) in lieu of leading the league in statistics in ten or more seasons. Players need not play on the same team for the duration of their statistical successes."
A few highlights:
Multi-time PIT and WTFL champion with the Eagles and Knights
PIT Football scoring leader
PIT Football interception leader
2 x WTFL interception leader
One of the most feared two-way players to take the field!

The PIT Crew would like to congratulate Jake on his well deserved selection into the Manitoba Touch Football Hall of Fame!

Great pick. Playing with Jake for 20 years i've seen him do some crazy stuff to catch the ball. More importantly he has never once, in 20 years, lost his head and been disrespectful on the football field. He has been hit, pushed, trash talked, punched, kicked and his response has always been go back, catch the ball and play harder. The only penalty i can remember is once he kicked the ball that was on the ground (toward the player who was coming to get it) and it hit Mazer in the back.... instant flag.
If there was any example of how to play the game, be a teammate and a good sport, win or lose, Jake is the embodiment of those attributes. He should have a statue.
