Early Saturday the PIT signed an exclusive contract to play football games out of Frank Whyte field and Old Exhibition Grounds. The partnership between Nomads and PIT Football was forged five years ago and we have now solidified the partnership for this year and into the future.
The partnership agreement will allow PIT Football access to Frank Whyte Field which is widely regarded as the best touch football field in the northern part of the city. The deal will also allow the PIT continued access to Old Exhibition Grounds. The Nomads partnership will allow the PIT to play more games at Frank Whyte than at any point in our football history, a huge coup for the league and our Northern teams.
The partnership with Winnipeg Nomads comes on the heels of a similar multi-year deal made with Maple Grove in the South. The current agreement ensures that the PIT has the best fields on both sides of the city! As part of the deal the PIT will be working to improve field conditions at Old Ex, improvements that will begin in the next few weeks.
The summer season is really getting off to a massive start with our exclusive partnerships. As of right now our field locations include:
2 fields at Maple Grove (South)
Investors Group Field (IGF) (South)
Frank Whyte (North)
Old Exhibition Grounds (North)
We will be releasing the final few field locations once we hear back from the City of Winnipeg on our 2017 allocations. With the now three exclusive partnerships (Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Maple Grove, North Winnipeg Nomads) we have the best fields in all of touch football to play on equally distributed on both sides of the city.
