Booster Juice is once again sponsoring a weekly sportsmanship award given to the player in the PIT who best exemplifies sportsmanship, camaraderie and fair play on the field. We salute the players who make the game more fun for others and put the spirit of recreational sports ahead of wins and losses!
Sandeep Rehill had a huge game for our newest coed team Bloodbath and Beyond, registering two sacks and interception and two touchdowns. After two games Sandeep is second in the coed division in sacks, third in interceptions and tied for first in points! Not sure if he can keep up that pace the whole season but he would be the first person ever to be in the top three in three different statistical categories! This team has come out of the gate very competitive, not easily done in a first season of play but this team really has a future in the coed division. Not is this team talented but one of the most respectful teams we have seen.

Booster Juice and the PIT have teamed up to create a unique award for our players which will award sportsmanship over athletic prowess with a weekly award that will go to a player that demonstrates sportsmanship above all else during their games. Referees will submit their recommendations each week for a player that demonstrates honesty, honor and gamesmanship. The winner will be able to fuel up with a free Booster Juice for their efforts.
For the first time we have two Booster Juice Sportsmanship Awards to hand out in the same week! The tandem of Rory Doak and Carlin Doak combined for three touchdown passes and 13 points as the Interlake Thunder team took Back that Pass Up to the wire and almost won their first game in the PIT. Beyond the skill level this young team clearly has shown through two weeks they are definitely one of the most sportsmanship teams in the league.
Rory and Carlin will reap the rewards of that sportsmanship by having a Booster Juice on the PIT to fuel up prior to their next game!

Mike Hayhow wins our Week three player of the week award because Mike personifies all the great things that occur in the PIT. Mike always puts his team first in all situations, never has a bad word to say about anything or anyone, is well liked by all of our officials and is legitimately the exact type of person we in the PIT are proud to have as a member. Mike plays on three teams in the Winter (Dilligafs, Super Dillos! and Tonawanda Kardex) so he will definitely need a Booster Juice on the PIT to fuel up prior to his next set of games!

This week's Booster Juice Sportsmanship Award does to Andrew Saygnavong of #D1 Bound. To choose the awardee each week, referees submit their recommendations for a player that demonstrates honesty, honor, and gamesmanship. In a somewhat heated Division 3 tilt last weekend, Andrew didn't record any stats but made a huge effort to keep his teammates and opponents calm and composed. He de-escalated several interactions between players and made a point of reminding both teams "We don't yell in touch football!". In just three years, #D1 Bound has climbed from Division 18 to Division 3 and its safe to say they truly are Div 1 bound!

Martin Pena set a good example of sportsmanship this week, cheering for both teams and keeping the game light as he represented the Deflated Balls in Division 17. In his own words, "you always have to play with a smile." He also inflated the Balls with a touchdown and an interception. Thanks, Martin, for bringing out the best in your teammates and opponents!
Play any game with this much sportsmanship and both teams win.
