Congratulations to the PIT League's Winnipeg Avengers, who after an 11 month forced hiatus from competitive football, finished second in the annual Regina Labour Day Classic touch football tournament. The Avengers lost the elite finals thriller in overtime to the Regina Megalomania, one of the top ranked teams in Canada. The Avengers defeated Winnipeg's other elite division entrant, the Assassins, in the semifinals by two scores, to stake their claim as the best team in Manitoba. The tournament sets the Avengers up for a run at the national championships held in Ottawa over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

congrats!its unfortunate that this team has to be placed on the sidelines all year! they do represent football here in manitoba
