Messages for League Champions

The History Book has been renamed and revamped as "League Champions" on the navigation bar. We have added team stats such as records for points for and against, as well as records for the teams with the most championships for both indoor and outdoor. Also added was the "Undefeated Club" wherein each team that has gone undefeated culminating in a divisional championship has been acknowledged.

So far there have been no teams from the summer who have run the gauntlet and obtained the perfect season, however this year not one but two teams have a shot at immortality. The Aints in Division 4 are currently 10-0 and the Boozers in Division 10 are 12-0. Teams in those divisions may have some extra incentive to come up big in the remaining regular season games down the stretch.

Two teams entered the pantheon of record holders this summer as both Dammit Donald and the Guild of Calamitous Intent won their respective divisions and in the process tied a PIT record with three championship titles! Only four teams in PIT history have had their name inscribed on the nicest trophies in recreational sports that many times!

In tying the record, Dammit Donald also became the first team to win three consecutive outdoor titles. This team is also one of the best up and coming teams in touch football and due to their age, we predict they should be able to add a few more titles to the collection and ultimately smash the outdoor record title!

Congratulations to our newest entrants into the League Champions record book. For a full listing of team records check out the link here: http://pitfootball.com/menu/league-champions

While no team records were set in the Fall we must congratulate our newest entrants into the undefeated club. To become a member teams must go undefeated during the regular season and win the divisional championship. In the fall five teams were able to accomplish this feat: The Flying Squirrels, Guild of Calamitous Intent, Those Guys, SWC and Free Agents (North). The Fall season saw the Guild of Calamitous Intent tie the legendary Avengers team for most undefeated seasons in indoor history with 4.

In addition, of the 20 championship trophies handed out ten went to brand new teams in the PIT! The huge influx of new teams (over 30!) and youthful talent was another awesome perk of playing in the league in the Fall. The PIT has gone to great lengths to build bridges with the football community and we are starting to see that pay off with all of the new teams entering the sport. The future of the PIT and touch football in general looks very bright and we congratulate all of our new teams for giving the veterans a huge run for their money and taking home half of the trophies in the Fall!
